The Revit Sand 4 Adventure Gloves are the next iteration of the Sand glove line, coming with a nice, new set of colors including grey black, black, black-red, and black blue in sizes XS to 4XL. Coming at a recommended retail price of about 100 Euros, or 120 USD, they’re at the same price point as their predecessor and will be competing with the Dainese D-Explorer 2, Klim Baja S4, and the Icon Automag gloves.
Material
Created from a well-thought-out mix of textile and leather to balance ventilation and abrasion resistance, the Rev’It! Sand 4 Motorcycle Gloves are a comfortable choice. In the palm, you’re getting goat leather just as before with a grip patch, and additional reinforcements on the little finger and thumb. On the top of the hand, you will find a 3D air mesh able to encourage sufficient air flow while you ride, in addition, the area around the thumb is composed of abrasion resistant 500D PWR Shell stretch material to ensure that your fingers have enough flexibility while you ride. Lastly, the area between the fingers in the forchettes, you’re getting automan stretch fabric as well.
As a final touch, reflective elements along the top of the knuckles add enhanced visibility.
Safety
In terms of safety, the Rev’It Sand 4 Gloves offers a clever mix of protection and flexibility. In the knuckles, you’re getting an injected TPR protector, which features a new pattern for enhanced comfort and ventilation. It also gives you a good amount of coverage going up to about the middle of your fingers. Revit’s Temperfoam material can be found at the top of the knuckles as well, which is not CE certified but is still designed to assist with impact absorption.
Underneath, the glove is built with a TPR palm slider along with another insert in the thumb, which will also help in case of an impact. In a few final touches, the gloves are equipped with a PWR shield on the palm, and all elements are attached with Revit’s reinforced PWR yarn. With CE Level 1 Certification, the Sand 4 clearly demonstrates how much Revit have prioritized safety and flexibility.
Comfort
Since the Revit Sand 4 Short Gloves are designed for maximum flexibility and ventilation, they are also very comfortable. When putting the gloves on, you have an entry assist tab and a single Velcro strap around the wrist. An excellent mix of flexible protection and stretch fabric means you really do get a fantastic level of flexibility in these gloves.
Remember, for airflow you’re getting plenty of mesh fabric on the back of the hand, while air can also flow through the palm with the added perforations throughout. Revit have also kept their pre-curved finger construction with that hourglass shape that they’ve come to be known for, which means that, in addition to the stretch lips on top of the fingers, flexing your fingers will be no problem. Lastly, to ensure ease of use, they have also added Revit’s Connect fingertip in the index finger and thumb, which will let you use your touch screen device with the gloves on.
Summary
The Revit Sand 4 Gloves are bringing a lot of the features of the previous Sand 3. This is no surprise since they were already a great pair of gloves that proved incredibly popular with the dual sport riding segment thanks to their great balance of quality construction, comfort, and airflow.
