The Revit Quantum 2 Wind Breaker (or WB) is another urban jacket from Revit built to mix a sport cut and design with a casual hoody. Though the jacket is coming inspired by Revit’s racing leather jacket (the Quantum 2), this is going to be a completely different piece of gear. Instead of leather, we’re looking at softshell, instead of CE Level 2, it’s level 1, and you’re getting a casual hoody style.
So, the Revit Quantum 2 and Revit Quantum 2-WB are going to be completely different jackets even if they do share this great gradient pattern. So, with with its cooler season riding focus and recommended retail price of about 200 Euros, or 240 USD, the Rev’It! Quantum 2 WB Motorcycle Jacket will be competing with the Dainese Mayfair D-Dry, Klim Marrakesh, and the Alpinestars Sektor Tech V2.
Material
For material, the Revit Quantum 2 WB Jacket is coming made of Softshell 3L material. This means that this is going to be a much lighter jacket than something like the Quantum 2 H2O, and it will be much more akin to the Revit Afterburn H2O, though this jacket will be bringing a bit more casual styling.
All this means that the jacket is coming prEN 17092 Class A certified, which makes sense considering its lighter construction so it will stand up to some abrasion, but it is more focused on offering flexibility and ease of movement.
Lastly, in stretch areas around the waist and cuffs, you are getting a rib knit layer to help with comfort.
Safety
For safety, the Rev’It Quantum 2 Windbreaker is coming with a set of SEESMART CE Level 1 protectors in the shoulders and elbows. These are going to offer you a great level of safety and comfort since they are designed to be flexible and lightweight. As far as safety upgrades, you also get a pocket for Revit’s SEESOFT CE Level 2 back protector insert, which is always good to have.
Finally, you are also getting a jacket to pants zipper in the back so that you can connect the jacket to your choice of Revit pants or jeans, if you have the Safeway belt to zip it to. If you’re looking for the next level up in terms of safety though, you can always take a look at the Revit Flare 2 for something more casual heavy duty or the Quantum 2 if you want to go full leather racing.
Comfort
Finally, we come to the Revit Quantum 2 WB Hoodie’s comfort, which, considering its casual styling will be good. So, to keep you dry and warm you are getting Revit’s Hydratex WindBarrier material, which will also help block the wind and it is laminated onto the interior of the Softshell. Then, to make sure the jacket and everything in it stays in place, Revit have also given you a set of hand loops, which is also great to see. For a final adjustment point, you do get a toggle in the hood to tighten it if need be hidden near the collar.
For storage, you do also get a set of zippered hand warmer pockets on the outside and a single zippered interior pocket, which means you’re getting more options than with the Cedar hoody.
The jacket is fastened with a central zipper down the front with a wind catcher behind the zipper. This will stop the cold air from entering the jacket, and behind this you then have the rest of your interior with a mesh liner to allow air flow.
Summary
Overall, the Revit Quantum 2 WB brings a nice blend of urban sport design and a light weight. If you were looking at something like the Afterburn H2O but wanted a bit more sport infused throughout while keeping it casual, then this is a strong option.
