The Revit Peninsula Motorcycle Pants are a pair of in-the-boot pants built for exploring the trail. These are coming with a full Cordura and PWR shell stretch construction and they’re even bringing leather panels in the knees. The Rev’It Peninsula Trousers are also built to be upgraded with the additional range of off road protectors and they offer a nice balance of features overall.
The Revit pants are going to be coming in a range of color options including black, dark navy, and this grey camo design in sizes S to XL with short and long options. They are going to be coming in at about 240 Euros or 290 USD, which means that they’ll be competing with the Klim Dakar, Klim Baja S4, and Dainese D-Explorer 2 GTX Pants.
Material
The Rev’It! Peninsula Adventure Pants are mainly constructed from 750D Cordura ripstop material. This is a highly abrasion resistant textile, and the 750D means that it will be coming with a thicker weave for better performance since the pants are coming EN 17092 Class AA certified. This means that the pants have passed tear and abrasion tests, as well as seam and zip strength tests and the high abrasion zones have been tested to withstand at least 70 km/h.
In flex zones in the cuffs, above the knees, in the back of the waist, and crotch, the pants are also coming with Revit’s PWR Shell Ripstop stretch fabric, which is designed for abrasion resistance and flexibility. Lastly, the inside of the knees comes with Monaco performance cowhide to offer improved grip on the pants and heat insulation to make the pants more durable. For visibility, there is also a reflective panel in the back.
Safety
For safety, the Revit Peninsula Textile Pants are coming with a set of SEESMART protectors in the hips and knees for impact protection. However, while you are getting CE Level 2 on the hip, which, remember, is the highest level, the knee protectors are only coming certified to level 1.
The reason for this is that the pants are designed to be upgraded with a set of Revit’s scram knee protectors. These are coming in as separate for an additional 70 euros, though they are coming CE Level 2 with added coverage of the knee and shin. So, these added protectors are going to be a good idea if you really do plan to go off road adventure riding, and you can always reuse them across various Revit adventure pants.
Comfort
For comfort, the Revit Peninsula Summer Pants will also do nicely since Revit have added a nice set of features that are going to be a bit different to what we’ve seen before. This means that as far as fastening, you’re getting a flexible micro ratchet waist strap, which means you can always get the right size and it won’t hinder your comfort. Underneath this, you then get a zipper to fasten the rest of the pants.
The Peninsula trail pants do also come with a rubberized band around the interior of the waist, which is designed to keep the pants from slipping or falling down since the only other adjustability you’re getting is an elastic waist on either side.
These pants are designed to be worn underneath a pair of boots. So, this means you’re getting a slimmed down construction in the shin and cuff so that you can comfortably wear them underneath without any pressure points. If you’re more interested in a pair of Revit out pants, then it may be a good idea to take a look at the Revit Continent or Revit Element Pants as an alternative.
These are also going to be coming as a set of summer riding pants since they are built to flow air; on either side of the thigh, you’re getting large, zippered vents with additional perforations in the outer Cordura layer above the knees and around the fly area to bring even more air into the pants. Right next to the vents on either side, you are also getting a set of storage pockets fastened with a zip for any items you need to keep with you.
As a final feature, you also have Revit’s SureGrip patches in the seat to keep you from sliding around in the saddle as you ride.
Summary
The Revit Peninsula Riding Pants are serving a nice balance of off-road adventure construction alongside a strong set of protective features. Not only are you getting that AA certification, but plenty of ventilation options as well for summer trail riding.
