The Revit Metric Motorcycle Gloves are bringing a short-cuffed sport style to urban sport riders. Featuring full leather and air mesh construction, these gloves are going to be bringing a higher level of coverage than the Revit Prime with that hard-shell palm slider. But this also doesn’t mean you’re losing out on other features like a phone friendly fingertip.
So, with a recommended retail price of about 90 Euros or 110 USD, the gloves will be competing with the Alpinestars Crazy Eight, Dainese Carbon 3, Icon Contra 2, and the Klim Induction Gloves.
Material
The Rev’It! Metric Riding Gloves are coming mainly coming composed of goat leather, which is well-respected for its abrasion resistant properties, with additional reinforcements underneath the palm and around the side of the little finger. For added durability, the top of the index finger is also coming with cowhide leather.
For airflow, the little finger and cuff include 3D air mesh, which means that these gloves will be a good option for summer riding. For stretch and comfort, the area behind the knuckle and around the thumb is composed of corduroy while the fourchettes, are made of 500D PWR Shell stretch material.
Safety
For safety, the Rev’It Metric Summer Gloves are coming with a decent amount, which means there is going to be more hard protection than on the Revit Prime Gloves. The knuckle is coming with a TPU hard shell protector, which is also partially ventilated to bring in fresh air while riding in the heat. The middle and ring fingers have also received additional safety with a set of TPU hard shell finger knuckles and the outside of the glove is also reinforced with leather for abrasion.
Lastly, the heel of the palm is coming with a hard-shell palm slider and leather reinforcement, both of which are particularly important since if you are unlucky, you’ll most likely put your hands out in front of yourself and this is where the slider comes helps reduce friction with the road.
The gloves themselves are also certified to Level 1 with the knuckle protector included, which also is going to be standard for this category of glove since it is using a somewhat lighter construction. Though even here Revit are showing their safety focus since only CE Level 2 requires the knuckle protector to be tested.
Comfort
Lastly, we come to the Revit Metric Glove’s comfort, and there is definitely going to be a good degree of it. The gloves are built for summer riding, so you’re getting that 3D air mesh in the little finger and wrist as well as perforations on the bottom of the fingers and that vented knuckle protector, all of which means that you’re going to get a decent amount of air into the gloves.
Putting the gloves on, you mainly have a hook and loop wrist strap closure so you can get a nice, tight fit. With a set of stretch lips in the fingers, the corduroy inserts, and PWR shell stretch, you’ll also be able to get a excellent range of motion. For a final great addition, Revit have also included their Connect fingertip leather in the index finger and thumb, so that you can interact with your touch screen devices without removing the gloves.
Summary
The Revit Metric Urban Gloves are bringing a solid level of safety at a sub-100 Euro price. With their TPU hard shell protectors strategically placed around the hand, they will keep you covered, while the 3D air mesh makes sure you can keep cool.
