The RevIt Flare 2 Jacket is the next casual iteration of the already popular Revit Flare jacket. Featuring a lot of the same strong features as the previous jacket it offers a few small tweaks, particularly with the hood, to improve the overall experience. It also offers a more heavy duty jacket than the Revit Afterburn H2O as well as CE Level shoulder and elbow armor and waterproofing throughout.
The jacket comes in men’s and women’s cuts in black, dark green, and light green camo designs. With a recommended retail price of about 240 Euros or 290 USD, the Revit jacket will be competing with the Klim Marrakesh, Dainese Mayfair D-Dry, and the Alpinestars Sector Tech V2 Jackets.
Material
The Revit Flare 2 Motorcycle Jacket is mainly composed of Polyester 600D with additional polyester ribbing for stretch in the arms, chest, and back, and this is the same as the previous jacket. This is a tough and abrasion resistant material, that will help keep you covered if you come into contact with the road.
The Rev’It! Flare Two Jacket is also coming with reflective panels in the hood with the logo to help increase visibility. Lastly, the jacket offers a slimmer and sportier fit.
Safety
The Revit Flare II is coming with a strong protector package with Knox Flexiform CE Level 1 protectors in the shoulders and elbows. These are built to be tough and will also help to absorb any impacts. These are going to be a bit stiffer, but Knox does know what they’re about. The jacket can also be further upgraded with a SEESOFT CE Level 2 back protector, which is always a good idea and it also comes with a connector zipper in the back. This means that you can combine the jacket with a pair of Revit pants or if you go for a pair of protective jeans, then you can also use the Safeway belt from Revit to zip everything together.
Comfort
The Revit Flare 2 is equipped with a Revit’s Hydratex G liner which means that the waterproofing has been applied directly to the interior to help keep you dry and comfortable. But, if you are riding in warmer weather and need a bit of airflow, you can use the air vent in the sleeve, which you can zip closed when needed, bear in mind though, that it will only vent to the waterproof liner. The waterproof liner does have a mesh at the waist and in the cuffs for some degree of breathability as well as allowing moisture to escape more easily.
As far as adjustability, you are also getting a set of Velcro straps in the cuffs, a rivet snap in the bicep for cinching the upper arm, and another set of straps in the waist with Velcro. On the inside, you have an elastic pull tab as well to tighten it if needed. For storage, you are getting a set of hand warmer zippered pockets on either side as well. Revit has kept the button on the back of the hood, so that you can fasten it and ride without it flapping. Although if you want to take it off completely, you can do that too, since it is held on with a zipper in the back. A final note for the hood as well is that Revit has changed the liner material and whatever the color of the jacket, the liner only comes in black.
The jacket fastens with a central zipper down the front and, once open, provides access to the jacket’s rain barrier, which means that if water does make its way through the zipper, the off-center zip flap will direct water out the bottom of the jacket. The Revit Flare 2 Motorcycle Jacket also offers a removable long sleeve thermal liner, allowing a wearer to extend their riding season into cooler weather. The jacket also features an internal pocket for small items.
Summary
The Revit Flare 2 offers an attractive range of features, including: waterproofing, casual styling, an extra body warmer, and a detachable hood, which make it a very versatile option for any urban rider.
