Revit Everest GTX Motorcycle Boots

The Revit Everest GTX motorcycle boots from Revit are waterproof motorcycle boots for the adventure tour rider. The GTX in the name stands for Gore-Tex which allows you to easily ride in the rain while keeping your feet dry. But even in the summer on the hot days these motorcycle boots offer plenty of cooling thanks to its breathable membrane.

 

The Everest GTX are tall leather motorcycle boots that have a combined design of hiking footwear and motorcycle boots and all the functionalities a motorcyclist wants. The motorcycle boots are CE certified, which you can find more information about in the protection section.

Material

The Everest GTX motorcycle boots are made of several types of materials. The material that is most commonly used is the Nubuck leather. Nubuck leather is slightly thicker leather than suede leather, because it is made from the outside of skin, making the leather sturdy, hard-wearing and durable, and it is more often used for motorcycle boots.

If we move on and take a look at the other material we see two ribbed panels, these are on the front and back of the motorcycle boot and are made of suede leather.

On the outside of the motorcycle boot we see some kind of pattern, this is a reinforcement frame which is made of laminated Hypalon. Between this pattern polyester is used and on the heel they used a small piece of reflective material. 

The nose of the boots are made of rubber including shift pad to counteract wear so you can wear the boots longer. The sole is also made of rubber with a profile that provides more than enough grip on any type of surface and on the motorcycle.

 

Protection

The Everest GTX motorcycle boots are certified motorcycle boots and when we look at how it is certified we see that it gets the highest rating for the height of the boot, the lowest rating for its resistance to abrasion, the lowest rating against cutting and the lowest rating for its transverse stiffness. (2-1-1-1)

The transverse stiffness indicates how much resistance the boot offers to crushing your foot for example, if you get stuck under your bike.  

As the name of the motorcycle boot suggests, it is also WR approved which means that the motorcycle boot is truly waterproof.

When we start looking at the motorcycle boot itself we see that there are reinforced panels placed at the nose and on the side of the boot in combination with heel and ankle cups.

 Comfort

The inner lining is a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane. This ensures that your feet stay dry during the rainy days and feel comfortable on the hot days.

Then we move on to the insole of the motorcycle boot and for this Revit has used an OrthoLite insole that provides comfort on the motorcycle but also for everyday use.

To put on the shoes then, there is a large flap placed with Velcro with a YKK zipper underneath. The flaps protect the zipper from the heat, rain, cold and all other weather conditions. The YKK zipper has an extra Velcro fastener so it does not come loose accidentally.
