Product Description Revit Defender 3 GTX Jacket
The Revit Defender 3 GTX is Revit’s latest addition to their adventure travel collection for 2021, which are their updated version of their already proven quality of the Revit Defender Pro GTX jackets. The Defender 3 has a removable waterproof liner with a 3L GORE-TEX membrane, and adds a detachable thermal liner which will come in handy throughout the colder weather.
This jacket comes in 2 more colors, the sand/black and silver/anthracite, and is coming in a recommended retail price of 699 euros or 850 USD. This jacket will mainly be competing with Rukka’s Rimorina jacket and the Dainese Dolomiti Gore Tex Jacket.
Material
Starting off with the material of the outer shell, the jacket is built out of a combination of a 750D & ripstop PWR Shell. These materials are Revit’s take on taking the best properties of Cordura®, which has a high melting point, abrasion resistance, and excellent durability, and puts their unique Revit design stamp on it. This goes to say that the PWR shell provides a very high-performance protection for every rider.
The other 2 layers of the jacket is the detachable waterproof liner with a 3L GORE-TEX membrane, and a detachable thermal liner to keep you warm in lower temperatures. The jacket uses park skin material over the shoulders and neoprene on the collar, along with some reflective material along the biceps area, chest, and back. You are also getting stretch material along the elbows to ensure comfort when stretching on those areas.
Safety
To bring that adventure level protection, the Revit Defender Pro 3 also comes with a large number of protectors throughout. In the elbows and shoulders, you’re getting a level 2 SEEFLEX protectors. SEEFLEX is going to be Revit’s top level protection since it absorbs impact forces while also remaining nice and flexible, which is comparable to something like the Dainese Pro Armor.
Furthermore, this jacket also comes prepared for the SEESOFT Air CE-level 2 back protectors and the SEESOFT Air CE – level 1 chest protectors, if you are looking to add some extra safety into your jacket. These protectors are designed to absorb variable impacts without compromising on comfort, ventilation, or freedom of movement.
If you’re looking for even more safety, you are able to connect Revit’s Segur neck brace to the connection points on the jacket as well. Overall, you’re getting plenty of good safety with this jacket.
Comfort
Lastly, we come to the Revit Defender Pro 3’s comfort, and as we all know comfort is quite a vital aspect when riding. With this jacket, Revit is giving you XL zippers on the sleeve, and a zipper at center on front and back.
Other than that, this jacket is giving you plenty ventilation with panels on the front, multiple zippers on the arm and back, as well as a main zipper on the front that can be zipped open to reveal some mesh ventilation panel that will support air flow directed to the body.
As for storage, the jacket comes in with multiple pockets within and outside the jacket, that will allow you to keep your personal items close by. The pockets in the front here are envelope pockets, thus it allows you to extend the size of the pockets in case you need to store more things in there.
Furthermore, the inside of the pocket is made of mesh, so in case you’ve gotten your gloves or socks wet, you can store them in these pockets, and they are able to easily dry during your ride! Perfect addition for adventure travel riders who spend most of the time on the road.
Summary
Unsurprisingly, Revit has did it again by bringing high-quality materials, functionality, and protection on their jacket and still keeping their price on value. This jacket is an excellent combination for riders looking for all those aspects and who are ready to take on any journey with any weather on the road.
