HJ-32 Visor For HJC F70

The HJC F70 full-face helmet is the new Sport-Touring helmet from the Korean quality brand. The competitors of the HJC F-70 helmet are in particular the Shoei GT Air 2, AGV K6, Shark Spartan GT Pro Carbon, Bell Star DLX MIPS, Arai Profile-V, Scorpion EXO-1400 EVO Carbon, Shoei NXR 2 and the HJC RPHA 71

Shell

As usual, we start with the shell and it is made of fiberglass and has a weight of 1480g in size M, which is an average weight for these types of helmets. The advantage of fiberglass is that you need less material than polycarbonate to achieve the same strong shell. This results in a light shell. The HJC F-70 full-face helmet is available in 2 shell sizes. This is somewhat disappointing. The more shell sizes, the more compact the helmet is. Suppose you have a size L, then you will have the same shell size as a size XXL. Only the inner lining is different. This results in an unnecessarily large helmet shell. With a sales price of 350 euros, it is a real middle-range helmet. The shell is also aerodynamic and tested in the HJC wind tunnel. This is reflected in the aerodynamics. Wind tunnel testing is another characteristic of a quality helmet. It will result in less wind resistance and a better riding experience.

HJ-32 Visor

If we look at the HJC HJ-32 visor, you’ll notice that you can easily open and remove it. The visor mechanism is strong and smooth. The disadvantage is that you do need a screwdriver to take off the visor. We prefer a mechanism that allows you to take off the visor just by hand. However, the quality of the visor mechanism is excellent. The visor gives you a wide field of vision and is prepared for a pinlock lens that is supplied in the box, which is an extra plus. There is also an HJ-V9 integrated sun visor that blocks 99% of the UV.

Ventilation

For ventilation, we have an inlet on the chin that blows air on to the visor and face and you can easily open and close it. On top we have 2 ventilation openings that keep the head cool. These can be operated individually. The cold air is circulated through channels in the EPS and the warm air will escape through 2 ventilation openings at the rear. The ventilation on this helmet is more than okay. In terms of sound insulation, this helmet does reasonably well. Inner Liner

The inner lining is removable, washable and antibacterial. And with the cheek pads there is also room for wearing glasses to avoid the glasses pressing against your head while driving which would normally give a very uncomfortable feeling. Under the cheek pads you can see that there is room here for a SMART HJC 10B or 20B Bluetooth communication system, which is not supplied with the helmet. On the inside you can also see that the chin strap has a double-D ring closure. In terms of safety, the cheek pads are also equipped with a “quick release” which ensures that they can be removed quickly and easily in the event of an emergency.
